Catholic Schools Week

Celebrating Our Catholic Foundation

For JPII, Catholic Schools Week is not only a great way to celebrate our Catholic foundation, but it’s a spectacular way for the school to foster community support and assure that we continue to fulfill our mission.

The celebration began on January 27th with our annual sleepover, which included games, movies, makeovers, pizza, chicken donated by Chick-fil-A Berkshire Mall, and ice-cream donated by Kenhorst Dairy Queen. One of the most popular games of the night was Pie-Face! Two individuals would rest their chins on small pedestals and hit a button as fast as possible. When one person would hit the button fast enough, the other would get a little whipped-cream on the nose!

On Monday, we laced-up our skates at Fantasy Skating Center. As expected, there were a few spills, but everyone persevered and got back up to continue their fun. Staff was very impressed by how well everyone did!

Tuesday and Wednesday gave way to not only music with homemade instruments, but a dance party and other fun activities like cooking and crafts.

We rounded out Catholic Schools Week with a special Mass. Our buddies from La Salle also joined us for bingo and “blankets & books”. Students from JPII buddied up with a student from La Salle to enjoy reading together. Blankets were kindly donated by Blankets of Hope Berks.

We would just like to say thank you to everyone that made our CSW celebration memorable! We are ever-grateful for the support we receive from the Berks community.
