BCTCC EmployAbility Expo

From the time students start at JPII there is emphasis placed on independence. As each individual progresses toward graduation, they are able to participate in transitional activities such as our Work for Independence Program, preparing a resume, and attending events like the BCTCC EmployAbility Expo.

“The MISSION of BCTCC is to plan and facilitate the successful movement of students with disabilities from school programs to adult life.  The GOAL of BCTCC is for each student with a disability to achieve his/her maximum potential for inclusion in all aspects of adult life.”

BCTCC

Our secondary students recently attended the EmployAbility Expo and had the opportunity to practice transitional skills:

– Participate in practice interviews
– Learn skills necessary to gain competitive employment
– Network with community agencies and other post-high school resources
– Explore a variety of career options through planned presentations
– Learn how to research employment opportunities
– Acquire employment-related skills necessary to retain a job

Each of the exercises will prove valuable as our secondary students prepare for graduation and life after school.
