A Word From Our Principal, Mary A. Adams

Dear Friend,
Welcome to John Paul II Center for Special Learning! I’m so glad you decided to visit our website, home to one of the most unique and vibrant schools in Berks County. We are so pleased you are able to take the time to view what John Paul II has to offer. We want to provide the opportunity to share all the good work being done in our programs. We are as true to our mission today as when it began in 1982.

John Paul II has so much to offer children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We strive to provide a program that is individualized to meet each student’s needs.

Our school age program educates the whole child in all aspects of life. Besides the traditional academics of Math and Reading, we offer life skills, social skills, self-help skills, and pre-vocational skills. We expose our students to a variety of experiences in the classroom and the community. Christ is centered in every activity.

Our adult program supports individuals to achieve greater independence, choices and opportunity in their lives. Our focus is for them to have quality of life.
