It’s a fresh start to a new year and after returning from Christmas break, there is certainly a lot to look forward to. One of the things we look forward to most is the cheer of our students and adults.
A year or so ago, we started to record some of the amazingly positive things our individuals say and we dubbed them “Hallway Colloquialisms”. From friendly remarks and kind offers of help, to heartwarming compliments, we certainly don’t catch everything that is said within our halls, but the colloquialisms we do catch are positive and sincere.
So, shortly after returning from Christmas break, we had a new individual starting in our Adult Program. As he was being introduced to office staff by another one of our adults, he exclaimed:
“It’s my very first day and I made two new friends.”
Statements like this great examples of the kind, friendly, and positive things we hear on a daily basis. Hallway Colloquialisms provide us with a chance to share such positive feelings with everyone.
