Dress code
This year’s event will be held outside, which means cocktail attire is not required. Instead, we are asking our guests to wear “Dressy Casual” attire. We recognize that we will be outside at a ballpark, so we encourage you to dress in your outdoor summer finest. Please refrain from wearing cut-off jeans, ripped jeans, muscle or t-shirts.
Weather
While we hope the weather cooperates and we have a gorgeous summer evening for our event, there is always the possibility that bad weather may impact our plans. In the case of inclement weather, please check our FaceBook, Instagram, and LinkedIn pages for event updates. We will do our best to hold the event on June 18, but weather conditions may require moving to our rain date.
Rain Date
At this time, an official rain date has not been set. As soon as we receive an official rain date, it will be posted on our website.
Parking
VIP parking spaces will be reserved for our Diamond and Platinum sponsors (location will be provided closer to the event). All other event parking will be available across the street from the stadium.
Seating
Unlike past events, there will not be any assigned seating. Plenty of seating will be available throughout the first-base side of the stadium, from the gates up to and including the Pool Pavilion.
COVID
The event will follow all current COVID guidelines.
Will The Reading Fightin Phillies Play A Game That Night?
No, there will not be a baseball game on the day of JPII’s Legacy Gala. The Reading Fightin Phils will be on the road.
Pool Area
Although we will be utilizing the seating in the Pool Pavilion, the pool will not be open.
Dining
Legacy Gala guests will enjoy stations style dining with an America’s favorite pastime twist! Prior to our program, Boscov’s catering staff will be walking around with Hawker Boxes, serving handheld appetizers. After the program, stroll throughout the first base Plaza area where we will have several food stations, including boxed salads and “finger” food. The live grill can be found in the concession area where you can choose from one of three grilled items, sides, and sauces. Kid-friendly foods are available. There will be cash bars for those over 21.
Check-In
When you arrive at the ballpark, you will check-in at the stadium’s VIP entrance. Here, our volunteers will provide you with your bid number and answer any questions that you may have. We will not be providing an actual ticket.

Setting Up Your Online Bidding Account
New this year is the ability to bid on silent auction items from anywhere using an online mobile bidding system that allows you to bid from your phone!
You will receive an email asking you to complete your online registration. Each email is unique to a bid number that has already been assigned to you. Please take a few moments to finalize your registration by setting up your credit card information before arriving at the event.
Registering is easy; simply follow these steps:
- From a browser, click on the link in the registration email you have received and follow the instructions provided.
- Note: You will be required to add a credit card in order to purchase, donate or place a bid.
Will Someone Be Available to Help If I Have Questions About Online Bidding?
Yes! We will have volunteers available to help you if you run into any problems with bidding online. If your phone does not support internet access, we will also have volunteers available to place the bid for you using one of our iPads.

Note: Even if you are unable to bid from your phone, you must set up an online bidding account to receive a bid number. You cannot participate in the auction without one. It is recommended that you set up your account prior to arriving at the event
Accessing Online Bidding Once Your Account Is Set Up
- To sign back into your account, from a browser on your phone, go to: https://jpiilegacygala.maxgiving.bid/items
- Click the Login Button on the far-right corner, then
enter your registered phone number and chosen password.
- If you have forgotten your password, click the Forgot Password Link on the Login page and you will be sent a text message that will direct you to a page to reset your password and allow you back into the event.
- Once logged in you will see the Profile Icon in the right corner.
- Start bidding!
Check Out At The End of the Night
The silent auction will close at 8:30 p.m. If you won any of the silent auction items, you will receive a text notification letting you know what items you will take home with you. After the fireworks are complete, please return to the silent auction area where your items will be gathered and placed in bid number order. Simply locate your bid number, review the bid item list, and you may leave with your items. No need to wait in line!
