Meet Julia Goheen
Adult Program Specialist
Continuing our “Introduction Series”, we would like to introduce Julia Goheen, one of our two Adult Program Specialists. Our field reporter – Mrs. Berkhammer – has the exclusive interview:
Rene Berkhammer: When did you start at JPII?
Julia Goheen: January 13, 2017
B: What is your position at JPII and What does it include?
J: The Adult Program has expanded and I am in charge of fielding new volunteer opportunities and designing the new program with our new part-time adults.
B: What is your professional background?
J: I graduated from Alvernia University with a B.A. in Behavioral Health. I worked at S.A.M. for 10 years as an Intensive Case Manager and worked at Office of Aging as the Director of Foster Grandparent Program, where I recruited grandparents to help with academic at risk children. I also have worked at Threshold as a program supervisor and at InVision Human Services.
B: What are some of your hobbies and what do you like to do in your spare time?
J: I like working out, doing Zumba, listening to music, taking long walks, and I also like to learn about new things. Right now, gardening is new to me and I want to know everything about it.
B: What is your favorite food?
J: My nana made a killer turkey tetrazzini. I also like ham loaf and love coquito ice cream from Carvel.
B: What is your favorite color?
J: Blue
B: Where is your favorite place to vacation?
J: I am a beach person, I love the shore. Clear blue water for me only!
B: What is important to you?
J: Spending time with family; I have 3 sisters and 1 brother. I have one son named Elijah who graduates from Governor Mifflin High School and will be attending Delaware Valley University where he will be studying Environmental Science and Engineering. He will also be playing football this year at Delaware Valley University.
